WHAT IS ROYAL JELLY
Royal Jelly is a secretion by a gland in the worker bees head. It is a white, milky substance that is used to feed the larvae and queen bee. This highly nutritious substance is used to increase rapid growth and development of the larvae.
Except for the queen bee, adult bees do not eat royal jelly at all; it is only consumed by the larvae. If a queen is desired, the hatchling will receive only royal jelly as its food source, in order that she will become sexually mature and have the fully developed ovaries needed to lay more eggs for the hive.
Royal Jelly is called this name as it is consumed by the queen bee. It provides many health benefits and creates good health including healthy skin to anyone that consumes it. Because Royal Jelly spoils easily, it is usually combined with honey in order to preserve it. It is used by people around the world for its immune boosting properties.
HISTORY OF ROYAL JELLY
Royal Jelly was first recommended for human medicinal purposes in 1922 by Prof. Remy Chauvin of France who was well known for his research on bees and their products.
